H1N1 again

Friday, October 30th, 2009

OK I know you get sick of it so do I.

But I thought I would make a list to to help you not get sick :)

So what can you do to protect yourself and other of getting the flue.

  • Stay home when you are sick! by going out YOU are personally responsible of spreading H1N1
  • Shop less. I know it sounds harsh but by going out less makes it less likely that you pick up the virus.
  • Touch less. The H1N1 can survive on surfaces for up to 30 minutes so watch it when you touch the escalator hand rail or the most popular items in stores.
  • OK washing you hands helps of course
  • Touching nose and mouth less helps to because that is where the virus will enter your body.
  • Help your immune system by getting your vitamins maybe a couple more this time of year will help you.
  • Don’t share things like water bottles and plates and stuff because you don’t know if you friend carries the virus
  • These are the most important once BUT don’t forget if YOU are sick STAY HOME!!

Then the last funny thing I heard on the news yesterday. Apparently the companies making the flu shots demanded not being liable and that to me means even more that I will NOT get the vacine.

And finally don’t panic it is just the flu so if you get sick take it as you do any other flu.

H1N1 vaccination why?

OK here in Calgary the H1N1 vaccination is in full swing for the last two days now and lines are crazzy long with waiting times of 4 hours or more.

Maybe I don’t get it but what is all the fuss about. People it is the flu, I got it so for me deffinitly no shot but now you get all those people saying that you are selfish if you do not get the H1N1 shot. I would say screw them I think it is a health risk on it’s own just standing in line for 4 hours with people who are afraid of getting the flu and you never know what all those people carry with them. maybe just another strain of a different flu????

I would urge people to grow up and behave like a smart person. Take you precausions and when you start to feel sick then stay home and sicken out.

But on the other hand I also don’t believe in all those medicines they have for when you are sick.

For now I would say that I was on a holiday in New York in September and there at that point already 800.000 people had the H1N1 virus and still you didn’t see hand sanitizer stations like you see everywhere in Calgary. OK people talked about it and took it as it came. But non of those 800.000 people got vacinated and don’t have to any more. So if you already got the flu in the last months BIG changes you had H1N1 and that means that you are imune for it now so getting the shot with all the extra risks in it does not make any sense.
