OK so Friday we had weather warning here in Calgary and the roads where like really bad with traffic going slow like really slow. But then there comes an ambulance with lights and sounds in the middle of delivering a patient to the hospital.
The Ambulance did not go that fast he was careful with all the snow and ice on the roads. But then there are lots of crazy drivers around him going so fast and all passing the ambulance. Guys what are you thinking it is bad outside why go so fast and bring us all in danger?
Gmail now offers different themes to make your emailing experience look nicer.
And there seem to be a nice feature in there. After you select a theme it asks you for you location.
After that you local weather can be a part of your theme.
I use the bus stop theme and most times it shows me a giraffe with a long long neck but then this week it was raining and there where the umbrellas. And today it snows lots and guess what there now is a big Snowman and some people at the bus stop with snowboards, penguins and of course hats and mits.
So isn’t this the perfect way of making you computer behave like your real world?
Ever wondered how you could extend the range of the remote in your car key?
If so then I found a little simple trick to do so. I have seen it on an episode of Top Gear a while ago but never really tried till yesterday evening when I forgot to lock my car and i got to far away to use the remote as i normally do.
My Car a Jeep Patriot has one of those keys (see picture) with all the stuff build in it.
To extend the range simply hold the key against your head yes i am not kidding and then press the button and you will see it works. So no difficult electronics or stronge batteries just hold the key against your head and let your body be your range extender.
It is hard to believe so I kept trying it for a couple of times and there is no other conclusion to get then It works.
OK maybe you do not like the title of this post but still I am ranting and maybe after reading the rest of my story you agree with the title.
From very close I have a view on the medical research world that is ran at universities in Europe and Canada I can’t say much about any where else but I guess it is the same everywhere.
Please do not take this post personal maybe it does not apply to you.
Did you know that lots of your money that came from taxes of gifts to good causes ends up paying for professors personal holidays, iPods, and you name it what else. Till now after 5 years hanging around the research world I still need to meet the first person that did not misused the money given to them.
Maybe you also did not know that grant money given to students is often also done based on you wash my hand I wash yours. I know students that get money funded by gifts that pays there salery but they don’t even do research in that field. I guess it helps if you direct boss is one of the people who decides who gets the money.
Then there are the people that are abused all the time by pushing almost everything in their direction without being rewarded for it or even acknowledged. In one case a person worked on a review for like 1.5 years and send it to her supervisor who then left it hanging for 8 months and then asked the person to edit it and this without even reading it!
I could keep going with this post but maybe it is time to stop before I make it even worse. One piece of advice don’t give money for medical research it is a waste of your money first the good course keeps a BIG part for there administration cost to pay for fancy parties and meetings in very fancy hotels and then the small part that is left ends up like I stated above. If you want to do good with your money then do it yourself that is the only way you really know it gets something done!
Remember my first post of the money the MS Society send me?
So after sending me 5 cents and a bunch of address labels in September today the mailman again brought me an envelope full of address labels and 5 cents from the MS Society of Canada.
That means in two months they send me so many address labels that I now have enough for the next 10 years and again I got some changes. But why do they keep bugging me with the question about money?
To me if you can send me money and goodies then you do not have to beg for money. Use your money smarter that is what I would do.
And besides sending me all that stuff also is not very good for the enviroment. Now there is more plastic ending on the landfill because I can’t use all those goodies. And then there is the waste of paper.
I am pretty sure if they would not have send all those begging letters the world would have less MS because less pollution would be better for out health I am sure we do not have to get more prove of that!

I noticed that the volume of my Nokia 2760 cell phone was a bit low and now how do I get to hear better well it is simple.
Just call someone or let receive a call and then press the right control to make the volume go up. It will remember the setting so from then on you get to hear a little bit better.
