OK here in Calgary the H1N1 vaccination is in full swing for the last two days now and lines are crazzy long with waiting times of 4 hours or more.
Maybe I don’t get it but what is all the fuss about. People it is the flu, I got it so for me deffinitly no shot but now you get all those people saying that you are selfish if you do not get the H1N1 shot. I would say screw them I think it is a health risk on it’s own just standing in line for 4 hours with people who are afraid of getting the flu and you never know what all those people carry with them. maybe just another strain of a different flu????
I would urge people to grow up and behave like a smart person. Take you precausions and when you start to feel sick then stay home and sicken out.
But on the other hand I also don’t believe in all those medicines they have for when you are sick.
For now I would say that I was on a holiday in New York in September and there at that point already 800.000 people had the H1N1 virus and still you didn’t see hand sanitizer stations like you see everywhere in Calgary. OK people talked about it and took it as it came. But non of those 800.000 people got vacinated and don’t have to any more. So if you already got the flu in the last months BIG changes you had H1N1 and that means that you are imune for it now so getting the shot with all the extra risks in it does not make any sense.
Today on my way home I took the back alley to my place and then you see thing you really don’t want to see. Why do people have the urge to dump there old furniture just somewhere in an alley way?
If you go to the trouble of loading it in you car then the effort of driving a little bit further to the land fill can’t be that much more.
And yes maybe you have to pay 10 bucks to dump your gabage (under 250kg) but now you risk getting a huge fine for dumping your crap where it doesn’t belong.
I would be so a shamed to just dump your trash in some once back yard, OK most times it is a company where they dump it but still that doesn’t change a thing does it. This filth just does not belong there and the longer it stays there the worse it gets with animals going through it and then the rain or like today the snow makes it wet and then the sun will warm it up so that it starts to rot and smell.
Come on people we all live in this city, why do we have to make a mess out of it. STOP it!!!!
And you know if your furniture is still good and sometimes it looks still great you can bring it to a place like Value Village they will be happy with it and some of them even come pick it up at you home so you don’t have to worry about it at all.
And finally if you really can’t afford the 10 dollars for the landfill why can’t you take the effort to dump it in a garbage bin because in 9 out of 10 cases I seen there is a garbage bin big enough to hold the stuff they dump within 10 meters. Come on people lets make this city a bit cleaner PLEASE!
As some one who has a few domain names I always get tired of those nice brown envelopes you get from the Domain Registry of Canada. They look so official with the same color envelope like the goverment uses.
When you open the envelope you find a letter with way to much text and that is how they play this game. They want you to believe your domain names is up for renewal (most times it is in a couple of months) and that you need to pay them.
And that is what is not true of course because you didn’t get your domain name registred at Domain Registry of Canada but somewhere else. And then they try to charge you way to much. $40 dollars for one year while for instance I pay $15 dollars now.
Please people when you recieve a letter from Domain Registry of Canada don’t even bother opening it just trow it out it is not worth your time to even open the envelope!
I get them like every other week a letter from Citi Financial here on Centre street in Calgary. I got approved for a loan and I just have to come in to pick up the money.
The sad thing is I don’t want there money and really don’t care if they leave it at my doorstep.
I tried everything to get ride of this first I called the nr on the letter (twice) and that didn’t change anything. Then I called Citi Financial’s head office customer service and that didn’t change anthing. Then for a while I returned the letter witch is tricky because on the envelope they don’t even have the balls to write where it came from. And then the time before today I wrote them that next time I would stop by to visit them and yell at them.
So today a new letter arrived and fortunately for them I didn’t have the time to go there in person. So I called again asked for the manager and yelled at her on the phone and she wrote down my information and promised me that they would take care of it.
And let me tell you this if there is a next time (lets hope not) I will stop by personally and want them see them remove me from the system other wise I will not leave! (I guess I will have to bring my sleeping bag)
The funny thing is that by sending me this mail against my will and knowing that I don’t want it do they really think that I will ever trust them with my banking needs? If they can’t stop bugging me with there junk mail then what would happen if I have a cheque to deposit? I will not trust Citi Financial with my money not even if they are the last bank on earth.
Apple introduced the new iPhone and we are all happy about that are we
I am for sure not gone upgrade from my iPhone 3G to the new 3Gs it just offers to little upgrades for me to make it worth the extra money.
But Apple was nice to the people who are going to upgrade from the 3G to the 3G S because the outside is exactly the same and that means that you can use you cases for instance and your stand like i have the Podium and this makes it a lot cheaper for people to upgrade because now we don’t have to shell some more money on all the accessories we need and want.
So if you are thinking about upgrading then you can forget about the accessories
We all by now know how annoying those calls that try to sell you something.
But you can have some fun with them to. Have a look at this little video and maybe it gives you some idea’s
Let me tell you what I like to do. When I get called by a telemarketing company I put there nr in my phone so next time they call I know it is THEM. And then I just like to pickup and say “I AM NOT INTERESTED IN YOU S..T” and that normally keeps them kinda surprised (to say the least).
I would say invent something like it your self and share it with us maybe if we all do something like it we will have FUN with them instead of getting annoyed
A new iPhone does mean better specs and with the New iPhone 3GS the camera will be 3 mega pixel and has auto focus to. And that make me wonder the case is the same maybe the other parts still work the same way to ok faster does not automatically mean different layout of the main board and so that makes me wonder if it would be possible to order a camera of an iPhone 3GS and build it in to an iPhone 3G.
If that could work then that would be the best hack for an iPhone I can think off.

Of course this is gone cost jobs and that is sad but on the other hand is it worth to be a dealership of a brand if you sell less then 35 cars a year?
Coming from a country where every town has 1 or maybe 2 dealerships for 1 brand it is still strange to me to see all the same kind of dealerships in once city. Often I even wonder why there are so many dealerships of one brand so close together. Who was thinking when those dealerships where handed out?
I personally believe that the time has come that some of those brands just need to go bankrupt for me it would be sad because i own a Jeep and what would happen with my warrenty but really there is no logic at all to keep those brands going.
Where they sleeping the last 10 years? To me they where, if you see how brands from outside North America evoled there cars and how the brands here just did nothing should mean that the only thing they can do is stop.
In these Tech days who really wants to carry around one of thos BIG maps when going on a hike?
For instance it can be handy just to have a map on your iPhone or printing the part your really need yourself.
While browing the net for a map of Canada i found lots of topographical maps that cossetted lots of money, but then I found this http://atlas.nrcan.gc.ca a goverment serivce with free maps.
And it able to give me maps up to 1:20000 and to me that is more then enough for a hiking trip.
So stop paying for maps of canada you can get them for free!
