Any one shoping in a Sears store has to be stupid

Monday, December 28th, 2009

I liked a little train at Sears and it was on sale before Christmas but I decided not to at that point but then the sales started and it went up from 24.95 to 39.95 and again I thought that that would be a bit much.

But then I visited the Sears website and guess what they have the same product on sale for 19.95.

So I went back to the store trying to get it for the online price but NO they would not pricematch there OWN website.

If I want this train then I have to order it through Catalog shopping or there website and the let them ship it to the store (where they have at least 12 in stock) to me would be just insane to waste so many resources that for me I decided not to order it from Sears.

And people I would advice you Never to buy something in the Sears stores because you have big changes that they will charge you 100% extra like they try with the little train.

If I really want this train then I decided to order it at the manufacturer who sells and ships it for less and then it just comes from Hong Kong.

Canadian Goverment Benefits do i Qualify for any?

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

In these difficult economic times we all could use a little help.

Specially for those of us who not have much to live on there now is the website www.reducepoverty.ca and on that site you can find a Government Benefits calculator that can tell you what you are entitled to and how to apply.

Maybe you think you do not deserve any but you could be wrong there, I would say check it out and see if you can get any money back.

Do you have an iPhone but no dataplan?

Listen up this is what I found. I am with Fido and do not have a data plan. But when I was at a place that has a Rogers / Fido hotspot they let me use it for free because I have an iPhone. My friend who has an iPod Touch was not so lucky and just needed to pay if he wanted to use it.

So having an iPhone in Canada go give it a try.

This makes me wonder if people who have iPhones abroad have an similar experience and if this works accross borders????

Left over GiftCard money

Monday, October 27th, 2008

In the last two weeks I noticed it twice that when I used a giftcard I had a little bit of money left. One time it was $0.02 and one time it was $0.06 not much you would think and both time the cashier wanted to keep the card.

Yeah right this is an easy way for a company to make an extra buck with all those loose pennies that nobody uses they make some free profit.

I was thinking do many of you notice this happening? Maybe we can collect them all and move them on 1 card instead of lots of card of a couple of cents and then give them to a good cause that can use it.

Any idea’s on this? I am willing to do what it takes but I will need the cards to do it. Till now I got:

Coop $0.02

Sport Check $0.06

Credit

One way people geting more and more in debt is Credit Cards and not just because we use them but because we create an balance on them.

And as most of us know by now interest rates on a credit card are HIGH way to high. Most of my credit cards charge around 19% interest and that is just insane.

If you have credit card debt then maybe you should go talk to your bank and see if you can open a normal loan or line of credit. Interest rates will be much lower and should be below 10% and that means by doing that you save 9% every month.

My advice pay of you credit card every month when the bill comes. Just use the credit for emegencies and other wise just teach youself to use you credit card as a debit card with extra’s. I love the free stuff like airmiles that you get on a credit card but I pay my bill of as soon as it hits my mailbox.
